Dale Park, the president of the WA Farmers Federation says for many farmers in the South West Land Division, it will be a year they'd like to forget.
Dividing Western Australia, Dales says: "The northern half was reasonable, the southern half was very very patchy."
"I think some places ended up being not too bad, but for much of the wheatbelt the bad harvest season really capped off a fairly ordinary year."
For 2013, Dale says: "Let's just have a better season, it would be nice to have good general rains through the winter."
"What we need to be doing in 2013 is finding ways to be able to participate in the Asian century."
